DAY 01: AIRPORT - NEGOMBO

Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, and after completing arrival formalities and collecting your baggage, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative, who will assist you with your transfer to Negombo. The short coastal drive introduces you to Sri Lanka’s laid-back charm, palm-lined roads, and gentle ocean breezes, setting the tone for a relaxing holiday ahead.

Upon arrival, check in to the hotel and take time to unwind after your journey. You may choose to relax by the pool, enjoy the ocean views, or simply rest and acclimatize to the tropical surroundings.

DAY 02: NEGOMBO - WILPATTU (B/D)

After an early breakfast, check out of your hotel and proceed to experience the highly diverse ecosystem of the Muthurajawela Wetlands.

DAY 03: WILPATTU – SIGIRIYA (B/D)

Rise early to embark on a safari at Wilpattu National Park.

DAY 04: SIGIRIYA – WASGAMUWA – POLONNARUWA – SIGIRIYA (B/D)

After breakfast, spend the morning at leisure. Later at noon, embark on a jeep safari at Wasgamuwa National Park.

Experience the pristine wilderness of Wasgamuwa National Park, a hidden gem known for its rich biodiversity and peaceful natural surroundings. Home to large herds of wild elephants, as well as deer, monkeys, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species, the park offers an authentic safari experience away from the crowds. Surrounded by lush forests, grasslands, and scenic waterways, Wasgamuwa provides the perfect setting to connect with nature and witness Sri Lanka’s wildlife in its natural habitat. Return to your hotel and rest. Later in the evening, embark on a guided night walk through the forest in search of the rare and endangered red slender loris, one of Sri Lanka’s most unique nocturnal wildlife species.

DAY 05: SIGIRIYA – KANDY (B/D)

After an early breakfast at the hotel, visit the World Heritage-listed Sigiriya Fortress and climb the rock.

The 5th-century rock citadel of King Kasyapa and World Heritage Site, Sigiriya, not only showcases ancient Sri Lankan engineering and urban planning, but is also acclaimed as one of the finest monuments of art and culture. Step through the gigantic Lion Paws, overlooking the symmetrical royal gardens below, to appreciate the splendour that once dominated this rock fortress. Surrounded by ramparts and moats, Lion Rock, resembling the mythological City of Gods, is decorated with frescoes influenced by the Gupta-style paintings found in the Ajanta caves of India. Walk in the shade of the famous Mirror Wall, which embraces the western face of Sigiriya and preserves centuries-old graffiti. Visit the welldesigned museum below for an engaging journey into the past, and discover how the citadel rose above the surrounding lands with its castle, ponds, and irrigation systems that once pumped water to the summit through an ingenious hydraulic system. This remarkable masterpiece of a great king remained a wonder in Asia for centuries.

DAY 06: KANDY (B/D)

After an early breakfast, proceed on the scenic Pekoe Trail hike from Hanthana to Galaha, the first stage of Sri Lanka’s renowned long-distance trekking route.

DAY 08: KANDY – NUWARA ELIYA (B/D)

DAY 09: NUWARA ELIYA - YALA (B/D)

Rise early to proceed to the World’s End trek.

The World’s End trek is a moderately strenuous hike, distinct from the more challenging Knuckles Mountain Range trek. This scenic trail takes approximately three hours to complete, offering breathtaking views and a rewarding adventure. As you hike, you will traverse the lush greenery of Horton Plains National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The trek leads you to the dramatic cliff of World’s End, where you will be greeted by stunning panoramic views of the valley below and, on clear days, the Indian Ocean in the distance. Along the way, you will also pass Baker’s Falls, a picturesque waterfall cascading down the rocks, and have the opportunity to spot various wildlife, including sambar deer and numerous bird species. This trek is a perfect blend of natural beauty and adventure, making it a must-do experience.

Upon completion, check out of your property and proceed to Yala.

DAY 10: YALA - TANGALLE (B/D)

Rise early to embark on a game drive at Yala National Park with a packed breakfast.

As your jeep rumbles through the giant gates of Yala, you are not only stepping into the most visited national park in the country, but also into lands once part of a civilization that thrived during the reign of Sri Lankan kings. Yala is home to herds of elephants, sloth bears, spotted deer, jackals, abundant birdlife, and one of the highest densities of leopards in the world, making it one of the finest wildlife destinations in the country. DAY 11: TANGALLE (B/D)
